Moscow Investment Day in Frankfurt am Main (16 November 2006) (permalink )

The objective of the Congress was further strengthening of the cooperation between the City of Moscow and Frankfurt am Main which are among Europe’s largest financial and banking centres. The main areas and issues for this cooperation were stated in the Protocol of Cooperation between the Government of the City of Moscow and the Magistrate of Frankfurt am Main signed on 17.05.2001. The first Moscow Investment Day was organised in summer of 2003, followed by the Frankfurt Day in Moscow in November 2004. Both events were very successful and highly estimated by their participants as well as by the German and Russian press.

Organisers: On the part of the City of Moscow the main coordinator of the event was the International Relations Department of the City of Moscow, and its organisers are State Debt Committee of the City of Moscow and Financial Agency of the City of Moscow (Mosfinagency). On the part of Frankfurt it was organised by the Magistrate and Wirtschaftsfцrderung Frankfurt - Frankfurt Economic Development GmbH, in cooperation with Maleki Group.

Moscow Investment Day-2006 was held within the framework of the 9th Euro Finance Week with participation of the Mayor of Moscow Mr. Yuri Luzhkov, heading the City of Moscow official delegation, and Oberburgomeisterin of Frankfurt am Main Dr. Petra Roth. The Congress was attended by prominent bankers and representatives of German and Russian business elite. The total number of delegates exceeded 230, representing more than 80 companies. During the Congress there also took place a Press Conference of the Mayors and signing of the Memorandum between the City of Moscow Government and the Magistrate of Frankfurt.
